Atelier

The Manhattan Studio of Alexander Wang

Not unlike the striking, high contrast silhouettes that have made him American fashion’s wunderkind darling, the studio & workspace of Alexander Wang shows the same stark relief and glamorous reserve that have become the hallmarks of his ready-to-wear.

Crisscrossing eras and decorative schools, this downtown space is marked by the selection of furnishings  and the way they stand against the architecture  like sculpture in a gallery space.  And, like the designer’s fashion, each piece has a smart and sure sexiness about it that doesn’t play to the obvious or expected.

The collective of Wang’s design and atelier show a highly curatorial eye and the wielding of a sharp editing pencil that renders this space at once minimal and luxurious.
